We're proud to present the 20th Annual Brown Bag Summer Concert Series in Historic Downtown McMinnville.
Thursdays, 12pm to 1:30pm, June 13 - August 22, 2013.
Free and open to the public.
With the exception of the first and last concert, all concerts will take place outside at the US Bank plaza at 3rd and Davis St, in downtown McMinnville. In case of inclement weather, concerts will move indoors to Moonlight Theater at 3rd Street Pizza Co., 433 NE Third Street. The first and last concert of the season, will be held at the First Baptist Church, 125 SE Cowls St.
We encourage everyone to grab a lunch and head downtown every Thursday this summer.
June 13 - Michael Allen Harrison
We continue the long-standing tradition of kicking off the Brown Bag Concert Series with concert pianist Michael Allen Harrison. Michael is a northwest producer, composer and arranger and is returning for his 17th year to perform at our Brown Bag Concert Series. THIS concert will take place at the First Baptist Church, 125 NE Cowls St, McMinnville
June 20 - The Jake Blair Band
McMinnville's own blues guitarist and singer extraordinaire, Jake's band will present a variety of genres and styles.
June 27 - David Correa and Cascada
Over the past decade Cascada has showered hearts, souls and audiences with the sweet rhythms and melodies of their brand of Latin Guitar Fusion. David Correa's Spanish Guitar music combines Mexican and Central American folkgrooves with rumbas, tangos, and fandangos, then masterfully adds middle eastern melodies and sounds of the gypsys of Southern Spain to the mix, creating a distinctive music all his own.

July 18 - David Cooley Band
David Cooley has been wowing crowds with his passion and talent for music since his days as the second grader who conducted his school’s orchestra. His lifelong commitment to music, song, and dance has included tours and performances across the U.S. and around the world. Along the way, he’s worked with guitar and piano masters and has immersed himself in pop, rock, blues, jazz, and swing.
July 25 - Round House Band
Roundhouse performs music from a variety of genres using bluegrass instrumentation; bass, guitar, mandolin, and banjo. Duet, trio and quartet harmonies are integral to the Roundhouse sound; working out interesting and unique arrangements are of special interest to the band members. Bluegrass, folk, southern and classic rock, a cappella, gospel, country, blazing instrumentals and original compositions all appear in the band's repertoire!
August 1 - Columbia Classic Jazz Band
Led by Portland musician, Wayne Travillion, the Columbia Classic Jazz Band has become well known in traditional jazz circles and family venues throughout the Northwest. Toe tapping listening and dancing music is the norm for this seven piece Dixieland band. Do you remember songs like Bill Baily or Basin Street Blues? If you do, this group will be your cup of tea. The musicians, all Oregonians now, have played all over the West Coast and Hawaii as well as Jazz festivals in other states. Their motto is Bringing Traditional Jazz To The Faithful. You will not want to miss this group!
August 15 - Sky Bound Blue
Sky Bound Blue is the duo Jenny and Matt Behnke based right here in McMinnville. The married couple play an eclectic Americana blend with a generous dollop of grit and soul and a splash of Nashville inspired bluegrass roots. The Behnkes spent thirteen years in the Nashville area working with some of city’s finest writers and players and have recently returned home to the Northwest to continue honing their craft.
Pianist and composer Mike Strickland has been influenced by many styles of music and has evolved into a one-of-a-kind piano artist. Mike has toured extensively all over the US as a solo artist and with his trio. He is known for his exceptional musicianship and arrangements, his virtuosic technique, and his unmatched ability to connect with the audience on a personal level.
