Incorporated in 1876, McMinnville is a community rich with history. The Historic Open House Tour, hosted by McMinnville Downtown Association, is a fascinating and beautiful way to get a crash course in some of that history.

We'll be joined on the tour this year by McMinnville's Mayor, Rick Olsen whose parents owned a business downtown when he was a child. We'll tour the former Elks Lodge building, erected in 1908, now a private, 9,000 sq. ft. residence owned by Matt and Marilyn Worrix. Hotel Oregon will have guides available to share the colorful history and escort us throughout their four-story building. Buchanan Cellers, recently added to the National Registry of Historic Places, will be open for tours as well.

The tour takes place each year the first Saturday in March. The tours are at 10am and 2pm and last about 2 1/2 hours.

Reservations required - $5 donation requested. Call McMinnville Downtown Association at 503-472-3605
