On some summer nights, it's hard to tell where all of the music is coming from, but it fills the streets in this community that loves it's live performers. Whether you choose to hit a local pub for some Blues or take in the Linfield Orchestra, there is something on the McMinnville music scene for everyone.
McMinnville is also home to the Evergreen Aviation Museum the main attraction of which is a plane known around the world as the "Spruce Goose ." Most recently added to the Aviation Museum is the Space Museum, and the Evergreen IMAX theater . The first ever theater in Oregon to present IMAX in 3-D. Downtown has one venue for movie viewing at this time (though we are endlessly hopeful that the Mack Theater will soon be resurrected) The Moonlight Theater shows second run films, and you get to eat Pizza and drink beer while you watch them.
Museums and galleries dot the downtown, and stretch out hwy 18 toward the coast. Be sure to check out the unique offerings from paintings to pots.
As in most small American towns athletics play a big part of life from the first year of T-ball through the family attended college events. McMinnville's Parks and Recreation department offers diverse recreational opportunities through year-round events and programs for McMinnville residents of all ages. For a great family outing, McMinnville high school and Linfield college have sporting events throughout the year that draw many out of town fans as well as the locals.
